Closing The Year Lunch
11 December 2021What a year it has been. We’ve had ups and downs in business and life as we’ve worked our way through the continuing impact of Covid-19 and Brexit.
It’s at times like these that it helps to focus on what we have, what we have achieved, and who have been there with us providing support, giving us encouragement, ideas, and inspiration. Lifting our heads and minds to see the goods is an excellent antidote to the mountain of bad news that is all around.
This year we’ve been blessed in the SHINE Network to have heard from so many inspiring business leaders, sharing their journey, experiences, and ideas through our webinars and online meetings. We made many new connections and created new friendships and business relationships. For our SHINE members, you can revisit the webinars and listen to them again in our online members’ area.
With this in mind, a few of us got together this week for our Christmas lunch. Bringing people together is probably one of the things I get the greatest amount of satisfaction and joy in doing.
It was so good to see people face to face, share what’s happening and how we’ll be taking some downtime over the holiday season. A huge thanks to everyone who was able to join us. One of our SHINE members, Jessica Shailes, Director of The Ideal Marketing Company, came up from Portsmouth to be with us. It was wonderful to see you and spend time with you.
We were also able to present Sam Rathling, Founder of Pipeline 44 Group, Finalist, The Women’s Awards – East Midlands Outstanding Female Entrepreneur 2021 Awards with her certificate, which was presented to her by category sponsor, Rajesh Modha, Finance Lab.
It was also great to share time with David Major, Director of Creative Direction, Julie Proctor, Whatton House, Karen Wilbourn, Director of Quack Media, Ru Barnett, Founder of Entropy Project, Bev Sankey, and Julie Armstrong, Unique Solutions.
I know there were quite a few people who were unable to join us this time, but there will be many more opportunities in the year ahead.
This year, we did what we could, within Government restrictions to do what we do best, bringing like-minded people together, following our commitment to our self-development, and mindset improvement, even if it was via Zoom in the main. We will continue to do this after the holiday break and will also be getting back to our face-to-face networking events in addition to those online in the New Year.
So, to our amazing SHINE Members, thank you for being part of our journey this year. There’s much more in store for you in 2022.
And thanks again to our amazing Women’s Awards Sponsors, Creative Direction, Finance Lab, Cosy Direct, Smilin Occasionz, DLuXe Magazine, Mercia Image Print, Dare to Diva Productions, Beverley Sankey, Open Mind Training & Development Ltd, Uppingham First, WIMUK, AVP, and our many partners.
Wishing you health, wealth, and success now and throughout 2022. I hope to see you at one of our events.
