Happy International Women's Day

International Women’s Day this year has been another busy one. Each it seems that there are more events taking place than last year. Or maybe it seems like that this year because we’ve been through a long period of restricted movement.

Adding to this, these activities are now more likely to be spread across the month of March. There’s only so much we can all get done or take part in, in one day.
The SHINE Network community has taken this thought to heart and will be running our own IWD 2-Conference on the 29th and 30th March. If you’ve not checked it out you can find out more here.

However, today our Founder Sandra Pollock OBE joined the Rotary Club of Uppingham on invitation by Rotary Club Uppingham President, Shane James, along with Margaret Simpson BEM and Ron Simpson BEM to be one of the guest speakers on the International Women’s Day Breakfast.
It was a pleasure to me fellow speakers Maggy Herbert-Jobson and Chris Emmitt, as well as to catch up again with Sarah Furness, Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland.

It was an inspiring event where the speakers shared their journey and experiences. When we say yes to opportunities, great things happen, and little by little we change the world for the better.
