Friends that Shine30 July 2021
Finally, we’re beginning to come out of what has been an 18+ month period of hibernation, or that’s what it has felt like.
Even though there is still some concern about the number of people catching the Coronavirus and numbers going up, we are slowly getting back out and about again.
It’s not easy if I say so myself.
To start with it was hard to deal with the restriction of movement and now many of us are hesitant about going back out there properly.
Well, I’m one of those who tries my best to face the challenges head-on.
So I invited a few friends to join me at the lovely Chutney Ivy Restaurant in the Cultural Quarter in Leicester for a lunchtime get-together for food and chat. As the date got closer I became more excited about it.
Yes, you’re right, I don’t get out much, or I haven’t much recently.
But that’s what friends are for, to get you out and about. And what better way to do that.
At this month’s webinar, we heard some of the amazing journey of our guest speaker Shaf Islam, Founder and Managing Director. And what an inspirational talk that was.
We could only return the favour by paying him a visit, spending time at his place and enjoying the delicious food.
Compliments to the Chef. So no pictures of the food. We were too busy enjoying it.
If you’ve not been there before, you really do need to visit.
It was great to meet up with members of our SHINE Network community.
We hope you’ll join us next time. Check out our Events page to keep an eye on what’s happening.
Thanks to everyone who was able to join us this time.
